After Jesus ascended into heaven, what did the early church look like? What did people do? After seeing Jesus arrested and killed, much of the excitement about him died down. Most of those early followers simply walked away, including many who had witnessed miracles. But the TRUE church (a group numbering about 120) was very much alive. Acts 1:14 says, "They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers."

They prayed, but they also shared good news everywhere they went. Just 10 days after Jesus ascended into heaven, God poured out his Spirit on the day of Pentecost. About 3,000 NEW Christians were baptized on that day! The church has been growing ever since. Faithful men, women, and children have continued telling others the GOOD NEWS about Jesus. But the job isn't done. I have personally shared the good news of Jesus with many people who have never heard his name. This is our mission. It is the reason God leaves us here on earth after we get saved. We are to "GO" and "TELL."

1 Timothy 2:3-4 says, "This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." Friend, live 'on mission.' Share this good news, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
