Rest Strength Peace Joy
Jesus said, "Come to me, you who are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Jesus never pretended that this life would be easy for us. He never painted a picture of a rosie Christian life that is always trouble-free and happy. But God DID say, "Be joyful always." God DID say, "Pray continually." He DID say, "Give thanks in all circumstances."
I had an unbelievably heavy pack- far more weight than I could even carry today- and 8 miles to go. I had already walked 14 miles that day. With a whole dall sheep and my full camp, I had a heavy burden and I needed rest. But let's be honest. That's nothing compared to the burden carried by a single mom. It's nothing compared to the burden of losing a spouse or battling terminal cancer. And yet, through the REST and STRENGTH and PEACE that Christ offers, we can be JOYFUL in the face of the greatest trials. Draw near to Jesus, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
