Come To Jesus
When I say that I've spent hundreds of days on long Alaskan snowshoes, I am not exaggerating. I wore out one pair and patched them up again and again with 550 cord and various lashings. Except for possibly my friend Roger Huntington, I don't know anyone who's spent more time or walked more miles. Snowmachines changed winter travel, didn't they? I love my snowmachine, but there is something beautiful- almost peaceful- about about hearing no sound but the gentle whisper of your snowshoes as you move silently through the forest. It's something you need to experience to truly understand. In many respects, all of life is like that.
We certainly learn from others and can 'imagine' their adventures, but some things you simply need to experience for yourself. Truly following Christ is like that. Before I became a Christian, I didn't understand people carrying Bibles, much less being excited about going to church. I didn't understand why these people seemed to care so much for each other and why they looked so happy and why they were always talking about Jesus.
But when I experienced new life in Christ, it was like the sun rising on a dark morning. Suddenly I understood. Suddenly it all made sense. Suddenly I had what they had.
Come to Jesus. Experience the 'gentle whisper' of walking with Christ, and you will be blessed! -Pastor BradMy 'old' snowshoes.
