Take This Step
As a teenager and young man out working in the world, I always thought I was a Christian. I never read the Bible, I never prayed, I rarely attended church after high school, and I cursed continuously. Then I got saved. A godly pastor suggested that I should get baptized. I resented his saying that. After all, I had been baptized as an infant. In fact, I had never seen or heard of a baptism that wasn't an infant. Over the coming months, I witnessed a number of baptisms and heard for the first time what the Bible both models and teaches. EVERY baptism in the Bible was by immersion, JESUS was baptized by immersion, and the Greek word 'baptizo' means to be fully immersed.
Not only that, but every baptism in the Bible came AFTER a person put his or her faith in Christ. During those first months, I sensed the Holy Spirit telling me again and again, "You know that you need to do this." And so? I surrendered. I was baptized right here at The Crossing. It was the first time that I had ever publicly taken a stand for Christ. I still remember the beautiful experience to this day. IT'S NOT TOO LATE FOR YOU!
