Elevate Your Thinking

Snow at higher elevations- 2 inches at my house, but rain at the bottom of the mountain. At lower elevations we have a grit and grime. It clings to our shoes and boots and vehicles. But the higher you go the cleaner things become. The breathtaking purity of a blanket of fresh snow is in stark contrast to driving rain on grimy streets. 

There is a spiritual principle to be learned from this. God is above- the world is below. As we go higher- as we draw near to him- he cleanses our hearts and minds. Like a fresh blanket of snow, HIS purity covers OUR lives. But if we choose to center our hearts and minds in the world below, we cannot escape the contamination of a sinful and broken humanity. 

Lift your heart and mind in worship every morning. Elevate your thinking through opening your Bible and allowing God to speak. Come to him in prayer and with thanks for all he has done for you, not for your benefit, but because he is worthy. HE will wash over you like a cleansing, healing balm.
