Take The Risk
Every true adventure has a cost attached. We took turns carrying the 85 pound raft 7 miles up the East Fork of the Eklutna River. We also had 4 paddles, lifejackets and other essential gear. A friend was dragging a kayak. Our goal was to be the first people ever to raft this stretch of river. We scouted every stretch as we journeyed in, and the river was much more gnarly than we had anticipated.
It was faster and wilder than expected. But then- a journey into the 'unknown' is the very NATURE of adventure. The excitement and awe-inspiring moments are tempered by caution and moments of indecision or fear. On the other side of every challenge are feelings of exultation that spur us forward. For me, there is nothing like the adventure sharing Christ.
When a person embraces the gospel (and trust me, some WILL) my soul is flooded with thanksgiving that I get to play a small part in what God is doing in this world. THAT'S an adventure worth taking! Friends- TAKE THE RISK. Write a letter, send a card, have a conversation, invite someone to church, tell a lost person how much Jesus loves them. Live THIS adventure, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
