Created In God's Image

So here we were- the better part of a day of hard labor, good conversation with friends, inflating a raft, putting on our gear... There was one logjam higher up that we needed to portage. Other than that, the East Fork of the Eklutna River was high and raging. We plunged through all of the 'boulder gardens' and 'drops' that we had intended to portage around. This was whitewater rafting at its best. 

We had good weather, good health and good friends, along with a special sense of accomplishment that only comes from pressing through a difficult physical challenge. WHY DO IT? In some sense, my wife has never understood. You see, men were created to do hard things. Challenge appeals to us. It's a part of what it means to be 'man' created in the image of God. Men- put an adventure on your calendar. Women- inspire and support and encourage him. Life is a gift! Embrace it, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
