Be Intentional In Your Walk With God
We had a decision to make. This was the last day of our hunt and we were standing on top of a mountain... the wrong mountain. We could see the caribou, but they were still one 'small' mountain away. There was a high valley between us, which meant we would only lose about half of our elevation. We decided to go for it. We made a quick hike down into the valley and began to climb again. We knew that several calow caribou were above us, but that was all we'd seen.
From a meat perspective, a cow is only half the size of a bull, but half is better than none. I was so thankful to be on this hunt with my dad, and I really wanted him to get a nice bull. Even so, I was rejoicing to share this Alaska experience with him. Just the trail in had been way more than he imagined. At one point we put on chest waders and pushed our 4 wheelers through a muckhole that was deeper than the seats. Everything but the handlebars was under water. This had truly been an adventure.
Life is like a beautiful tapestry. 'Shared experience' is the fabric of life. It is the woven colors that make the picture. This is why Jesus didn't teach his disciples in a classroom for two hours a day. They traveled together, shared meals and campfires and slept wherever they ended up each day- together. Truly KNOWING another person requires intensive amounts of time. Our relationship with God is no different. To KNOW him, we must spend intentional, focused TIME with him. You can walk for a mile in a busy city with the same stranger beside you and never even notice him. Jesus is always with you, but that doesn't mean you are walking WITH him. To walk WITH someone is PERSONAL- INTENTIONAL- RELATIONAL. Don't simply drift through life. Walk through it WITH God and others, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
