Don't Give Up On The Battle
When I tell you that I like climbing mountains, what exactly am I saying? It's a battle both mentally and physically. In the dry heat and sunshine of our southern mountain states, I love every part of it. Climbing on packed trails in the sunshine with no bugs- I can spend days- even weeks- pushing my body to the limit. Now let's talk about Alaska. Sunny summer days on good trails are few and far between- but amazing when they come. The majority of days? Not so much.
This is why I like to climb in the winter. It's harder work, true, but there are no bugs and with the right clothing the weather is fairly irrelevant. We're all familiar with the phrase "choosing your battles." Sometimes wisdom simply says, "Wait for another day." Sometimes it says, "Choose a different path." But it never says, "Settle for a mediocre you." And here's the deal- in order to BE the best that you can BE, you must DO the best that you can DO.
You are a SPIRITUAL being created by God and given a SPIRITUAL purpose. Point people to Christ! If people close to you aren't receptive, then wait for a better day or choose a different path. Just don't give up on the battle! They are WORTH it! Trust me, this is a mountain worth climbing! Share your faith with someone today, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
