Love Them

It was a short, perfect stalk, and I soon had my first antelope with a bow. The statistical odds of being able to stalk an antelope with a bow and arrow are remote. I knew how fortunate I was. Sometimes things just work out. I had resigned my teaching position the previous spring and enlisted in the Army, but I had delayed my entry until after hunting season. I wouldn't necessarily say that I LIVED to hunt, but I CAN say that it was ALMOST true.

In reality, I lived for SELF. My entire life focus was on myself. Even though I was not Christian, I distinctly remember feeling 'empty' even as I was chasing animals in the mountains. It's as though I somehow knew that I was meant for something more- that I was created for a purpose- and somehow pleasing myself simply wasn't.... pleasing.

When Jesus shared the two greatest Commandments, he said that we are to LOVE GOD with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and that we are to LOVE OTHERS. We are to focus UPWARD and OUTWARD, not inward. Friends, this is the key to the beautiful life that you desire. Spend some time in worship this morning and then buy a gift or do something nice for someone just because you LOVE them. Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
