Go Fish
It was around midnight when we pulled our rafts into a gravel bar, hooked up our oki-drifters and began fishing for Kings. It couldn't have been more than a few casts before my dad hollered, "Fish on!" The other three of us reeled in our lines and stepped out of the way so that he could fight this salmon in the strong current. For me, this made all of the time and work worth it. This is exactly what I'd been hoping for. And believe me, it wasn't a 'given.' We were more than 100 miles from the ocean, and we needed to be on the river at the EXACT time that salmon were passing through the EXACT stretch of river we were on.
It doesn't matter how skilled you are if there are no fish in the river. Jesus told the disciples that they would "fish for men." But here's the deal- they couldn't hide out in a monastery, they had to go where the people were. You might know your Bible and even be comfortable sharing your faith, but if you aren't out in the community, how will you lead anyone to Christ? Fishermen FISH! But they don't do it sitting on their couches at home. So..... go fish! Invite someone to church today, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
