Therefore Go

By the time we quit fishing at 6 a.m., my dad and I had each kept one giant king. The limit was one each, so though we caught many, we were releasing these huge fish to continue on their way to their spawning grounds. Catch... and release. Once again, we have a picture of the Christian life. Jesus tells us to 'fish' for men. But this isn't so that we can gather a huge collection of followers for ourselves. First God uses us to gather children into his church, and then he tells us to strengthen them and release them into the world. This is what Jesus did with the 12 apostles and many others of his followers. 

First, by faith, they were gathered into God's church. This happened while Christ was still with them. But before returning to heaven, Jesus released them into the world. To do what? To fish for men, women, and children- to MAKE DISCIPLES of ALL NATIONS. That tiny group of people who put their faith in Christ 2000 years ago became our spiritual grandparents. Christian, God did not simply CATCH your heart- He has RELEASED you into the world. THEREFORE GO, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
