Be Faithful

It was the most unbelievable night of fishing I'd ever had. Being in the middle of Alaska's interior in the middle of June, it was light all night and we fished from 11 PM to 6 AM. I went to the same spot on the same date a year later with a different friend, and we didn't hook a single fish. My partner the second year was an exceptional fisherman and had much better gear than me. It didn't matter how good he was. It didn't matter how hard he fished. There were no fish in this stretch of the river. Make no mistake- my friend and I could have caught kings that summer, but it would've required that we come back to the river day after day. With 100% certainty, persistence would have paid off.

This is what it's like when we are sharing our faith.
Sometimes it's as natural as 'falling off a log' and people are ready to receive Christ. But when I was preaching on the street in Hawaii hundreds (if not thousands) of people walked on by without a single person stopping too talk. But I can tell you this with 100% certainty- persistence would have paid off! Sooner or later, people would come to Christ.

Remember, our job is not the conversion of sinners. Our job is to SHARE our faith, to INVITE people to come to a Bible-teacing, gospel preaching church, to PRAY for them and to LOVE them. Only God can do the rest. Be faithful, keep on 'fishing for men', and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
