Your Body Is A Temple

A man I knew but had never spent time with soon became one of my very best friends. It all started when he said to me after church one Sunday, "When you're tired of being fat and lazy, why don't you come climbing with me?" I made excuses why I couldn't climb in winter, but he wouldn't let up. The next morning, he was at my house at 5:30 with an extra set of crampons and we climbed Bear Mountain. Why did I agree? Because I WAS tired of being fat and lazy, and I needed a man to call me out on it.

Because of my lack of discipline, my fitness has been on a roller coaster for a number of seasons in my life. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:27, "I discipline my body and make it my slave." Fitness improves our quality of life and ibroadens the scope of our 'useability' when it comes to serving others. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Take care of it and you will be blessed. -Pastor Brad
