Put On His Armor
I 'bit the bullet' and purchased mountaineering boots, crampons and other gear. The rigid sole of the mountain boot maximized the effectiveness of the crampons and was a game changer for me. Tom taught me how to 'French step,' and the more vertical chutes- while still a battle- became more 'doable.' The right boots with crampons also made coming down absolutely stable.
I had never imagined that I could descend without slipping and falling. That's the very reason why I had never considered winter climbing. As I easily worked my way down the first steep slope, I said, "Tom this has changed my life." I was still out of shape. Climbing was still an uphill battle, but having the right equipment changed the battle entirely!
This is also true in our spiritual lives. Ephesians 6 tells us to "put on the full armor of God" so that when the day of evil comes, we are able to STAND. Friend, are you geared up for today's journey? Have you spent time with the Savior? Pause for moment. Ask him to help and guide you today. Put on HIS armor, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
