Give Thanks
Six inches of fresh snow at my house. We haven't seen this much in a single storm since the end of October. For months I wanted snow and didn't get it. Now I don't want it, and here it comes. Oh, well. I've already been out shoveling and I know the exercise is good for me. No matter how long it takes, I know that spring will come.
Once again we will see green leaves bursting forth, and soon after that the grass and flowers will begin their annual displays. The songbirds will arrive and the ice will go out on our lakes and rivers. It's as though the earth will stretch its arms and sit up after a long winter slumber. Already the days are getting longer.
God has established the seasons as surely as you and I have seasons in our lives. One of the keys to contentment is to give thanks in all circumstances. So today, "I thank you, Lord, for this fresh blanket of snow." Give thanks, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
