Try Anyway

I was meticulous when it came to keeping my meat clean. The snow helped but I still had to be careful where I laid it down. It was strange. The palms of my hands were hot from working with the meat, but the blood on the back of my hands glazed over into ice. It was a new and unpleasant experience, one I've had many times since. I continuously held the backs of my hands against the warm meat to thaw the ice, but then as soon as I went back to work, they glazed over again.
Even so, I was excited. I was thankful. This was my first caribou on my first Alaska hunt. Many experiences in life take us by complete surprise. Frozen hands while working with something hot- huh! We have no way to prepare for what we 'don't know.' This is why people say, "Experience is the best teacher." I'll grant you this- experience CAN be a good teacher. Often other people's experience (learning from the experience of others) is a BETTER teacher.
The Word of God is the BEST teacher. With a load of meat on my back and a smile on my face, I finally followed my tracks back to camp. I succeeded because, even though things looked very unlikely, I TRIED ANYWAY. This is always my goal when it comes to sharing my faith and inviting people to church. TRY ANYWAY. Get out there and DO IT, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
