Read Scripture

I'm one of the worst 'still hunters' in human history. Sitting still when I'm out in the woods- much less sitting still for hours in the freezing cold or when I am being eaten alive by mosquitoes- is not my 'gift.' I've had to learn to deal with this, because sitting still is essential for hunting success in Alaska. The hours spent looking through binoculars or a spotting scope pay off when an animal suddenly 'appears' where you could swear none had been before.

Don't get me wrong, I still do many miles of walking, but I've had to train myself to sit still. What do I do? I bring a small Bible or a Christian book. I spend those hours reading- glassing for game- reading- glassing- reading- glassing... Very often God gives me the messages that I preach as I am out in the wilderness spending time in his Word.

This is why God tells us we should always be thinking and talking about his Word- when we're home, when we're walking along, when we lie down and when we get up. During your 'wait times' set your phone down or use it to read Scripture or the teachings of Christian men and women, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
