Truly Know Him
Prayer changes THINGS. All throughout history, we find that it is the unchanging nature of God to CHANGE his plans based upon the prayers of his people. Very often he is WAITING for us to pray- DESIRING that we would pray. Why? Because prayer changes US!
We know ABOUT God through the Scriptures, but we KNOW God through the intimacy of constant communication and a love relationship. His Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are his children. Then we call him Abba (dad, daddy) Father. Calling God 'Dad' is not presumption (or dishonor) coming from us. It is simply walking and living as any child with a loving father.
Anyone who grows up in a Bible teaching church knows much ABOUT God. Why, then, do so many of those young people walk away from God as young adults? Simple (but tragic)- it's because they know about God, but they never really KNEW Him. They were never born again. They were never made a new creation in Christ. Friend, examine your heart. Don't rest until you TRULY KNOW HIM, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
