Live With Boldness

"Are you guys awake?" My hunting partner and I had taken an older teen on a hunting excursion up the Snow River past the glacier. We had three small 'solo' tents pitched about 20 yards apart. As some of you know, camping out in country that is full of bears can be interesting. At times your imagination can run wild. My buddy and I were used to this and did not realize that our teenage companion was scared to death.

When you are already nervous, everything you hear starts to sound like a bear moving around camp. My hunting partner replied, "Would you like to sleep in my tent?" After a short pause, we heard, "Yeah." In many areas of life, it is not simply 'the bears' that scare us, it is also 'the bears that might be there.' The fear of 'what might happen' keeps many people from living an adventurous life of faith.

Don't get me wrong, there is a place for wisdom and sound judgment, but there is no place in a Christian's life for living in fear. The greatest barrier to Christians sharing their faith with family, with friends, even with strangers- is a fear of 'what might happen.' Look at it this way. The very worst thing that could happen is that the person you are sharing with will walk away still an unbeliever.

Nothing is lost. WITNESSING HAS NO DOWNSIDE (unless you care more about your own ego or feelings than you care about another person's eternity). Then again, if you are walking with Christ, that will never be true of you. Live with boldness. Embrace this short, beautiful life God has given you. Take someone to heaven with you, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
