Press In To God
The cold snap continues with the temperature in the single digits. I saw a crew working on a metal building yesterday. I've worked construction in these temperatures. It's impossible to keep your fingers warm. You lose dexterity- even the ability to pick up a nail or a screw. Everything becomes more difficult. This same truth applies to those who are spiritually cold.
Believe me, I've been there. When you allow yourself to get out of rhythm- when you break that continual conversation with God- when you aren't faithfully in His Word and prayer and worship- everything becomes more difficult. It's as though you are veering off the one safe path to walk through a minefield of temptations and hidden dangers. The solution begins on your knees.
Tell God that you are sorry for being distant- for being so preoccupied with the details of life that you have ignored The Giver of Life. Praise Him, give thanks to Him, pour out your love and gratitude in praise. Believe me, the Holy Spirit waits eagerly to rekindle that fire! PRESS IN to God, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
