Build Each Other Up
And so we passed on the buck of a lifetime and made our way in silence down to the truck. I was not a Christian then, and I said in a moment of honesty, "Doug, if you hadn't been here I would have shot that buck." He grinned and said, "If you hadn't been here, I would've shot that buck." Though we would never have gotten caught, accountability kept us legal.
Face it, we are all sinners. Having brothers and sisters who will hold us accountable is a great gift. We all need people in our lives who encourage us to do the right thing and who call us out if we are doing the wrong thing. There are no deep relationships that are neutral. Every person either helps you in your walk with Christ or they hinder you.
When it comes to people of faith, God says in Proverbs, "Two are better than one;" and, "A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Hold each other accountable, build each other up, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
