Grow Your Circle
I had an unusual Christmas Day.
A good friend arrived just before 3 AM to take us to the airport. I had been up til after midnight waiting for my son to arrive, and then got up again at 2 AM to get ready to go. Around 5 AM we were on our first of 3 flights to Rochester, Minnesota to spend Christmas with my parents and family. And then it occurred to me- everything about that long day was because of the incredible blessing of family. Many Alaskans don't have extended family near them. It takes a lot of time and a lot of money for us to go 'outside.' Laura and I learned many years ago of the importance of 'becoming family' with those we are privileged to share life with. Friends, family is only one good church- one small group or Bible study- one service opportunity away. Get to know people.
Invest in loving and serving others. I know that it takes time and emotional energy, but the payoff is huge! Treasure your natural family, they are a gift. But don't forget to GROW your circle of family, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
