Experience God In Creation

For me the dream was never 'Alaska', it was simply to serve my country in the military. I was out of college and teaching school, but always regretted not serving. It was my decision to enlist in the infantry (hoping to be stationed in the south where I could get a good tan) that led to my being stationed in Alaska. As a young boy I could never have imagined that decades later I would be running a trapline in the interior of Alaska. While it's true that you can take the boy out of the woods, it's equally true that you cannot take the woods out of the boy.

The wild places have always captivated my heart. In the same way that the Spirit of God calls to me continuously, the call of the wild places never ceases in my heart. I can't explain it. I've always been that way. When I read in my Bible that "Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray," I think I understand what he was feeling.

There is nowhere I'd rather be than worshipping or opening the Bible with a group of friends, yet I also feel an intimacy with God when I'm in the mountains or forests, on the rivers or the ocean. Experience God in creation today, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
